UWA UPDATES ON ENHANCED PAYMENT SYSTEM AND NEW TREKKING OPPORTUNITIES

The Uganda Wildlife Authority is pleased to announce the following key operational updates that are aimed at improving our service delivery and expanding the world-class safari experiences that are available to stakeholders and guests.

  1. The New In-Plant Banking Services

To resolve recent payment challenges and permit issuance, a dedicated In-Plant Banking Unit is now operational at the UWA Headquarters Reservations Office. This facility is designed to provide a “one-stop” solution for all service payments.

Operating Hours:

  • Mon – Fri: 08:30 AM – 04:30 PM
  • Saturday: 09:00 AM – 01:00 PM

Processing Note: All payments will reflect after a period of 24 hours. Permit processing and service delivery will commence immediately upon financial confirmation in the bank.

  1. Addition Of Two More Gorilla Groups On The Tracking Roster

We are thrilled to announce the official addition of two new habituated gorilla families to our tracking roster, offering more depth to our conservation and tourism efforts:

  • The Happy Group– Buhoma Sector
  • The Nshanjare Group – Rushaga Sector

Important Booking Notice: With the addition of these groups into our booking system, UWA will no longer issue extra permits. All bookings must be made based on real-time availability within the system. We encourage all partners to monitor the portal closely and secure permits in advance to avoid disappointment.

  1. The Golden Cat Tracking Experience

The new golden cat experience is exclusively conducted in the Kanyanchu area of Kibale Forest National Park, along Ngogo Road.

Booking Process: All reservations for this experience are currently handled on-ground rather than via the online portal, and they must be made 24 to 48 hours in advance

Cost: clients shall pay $350 per person for a 5-day expedition. All payments must be made through official UWA revenue accounts.

Tour operators are expected to provide the primary guide, while UWA will provide specialized rangers for security and tracking support.

We thank you for your support and look forward to working together to promote wildlife conservation and a successful tourism experience for all involved.
